KRT Wire | 05/16/2005 | Marlins' Conine's 3 hits earn a chance to get more: "The Marlins called on 'Baseball Tonight' to clarify John Kruk's comments about Jim Mecir on Sunday's broadcast.
Apparently unaware Mecir was born with a club foot and walks with a limp, Kruk criticized the Marlins for using an injured reliever in Sunday's loss to the Padres.
Mecir didn't take offense.
Kruk told the Marlins he would apologize on-air if the broadcast bosses let him. He also asked to be put in contact with Mecir."
